UNDERSTAND THIS PICTURE
after reading the issue about opening 10% quota for the non-Malays to enter UITM
i come to a conclusion that we should embrace diversity and respect others
i'm apart of UITM students who think that we should preserve our right and our belongings
but in a same time i also think that
we should not look down on other races and make such banners and sign boards in front of the UITM saying that
“roboh uitm, roboh melayu bumiputra” , “pertahankan hak kita“
enough is enough! we already voiced out our stand with the rally, right?
why do we have to drag this issue for another miles? we have to stop it. the signboard will cause more harm to us which specifically the MALAYS. oh come on..we are not alone who study in UITM?? we have Chinese and Indian staff for God sake! respect them!
let just put aside this racial issues and think us as MALAYSIAN
we are multi racial society
i am not trying to be racist,
we should promote our hetrogenious society to the world
instead of having riots and trying to protect our rights which leads to the collapness of our country.

what i can say that you are right. diversity is important. i also beleive that most malays is very open and accepting when it comes to other races, we have been a multi racial country for so long (how can we not be tollerant?). its just that for me i can see a lot of pressure coming from all sides about issues of uitm. why do any one want to question uitm now? are uitm students low class?
the issue which for me is a big one where some one questions the quality of uitm student by saying that it is low quality because it accepts only bumiputera, and we have no choice but to defend our quality in this way (saying that it does not matter we are bumiputera, we are not lazy (stereotyped) and stupid). we did not start this assumptions.
besides there are other issues that you can ask about our education system besides "oh! itm should respect other races". uitm student do respect other races especially our lecturers. just that you cannot blame some one protecting the image of quality that previous student and staff have fought so hard to build.
we are dillusional if saying that uitm student dont respect other races, because they dont live on an island and malaysia is not segregated. we freely and happily co exist with other malaysian races.
come on. please dont just comment on the merits of just being an open person, think for yourself and research the reason. stickers are small issues as compared to the perception of others towards uitm, we must maintian and keep reminiding students that they should strive to be excellent in their choosen feild and that it does not matter that we are bumiputera.

well i hv some questions
if most ppl r saying that uitm hs really low standard n low quality..so wats up with ppl wanting to be in uitm even they knw that is not the best place??so wats the fighting about??they r asking so that non bumi cn get in..so does it mean uitm is not so low..bcoz they really wanna get in so badly..???
im sure it's not all about 'competition'..so i guess uitm is a special place.

okay now lets make u clear bout this.UITM did not open the 10%quotoas to the non malays to enter uitm.. this is because they want to safeguard the malays. no offense ok, not because the chinese and indians are not qualified to be in uitm,no! this is because they want to protect and bring up the malay to a better standard which nowadays u have to admit,if we can see.comparing the chinese, indians with the malays, malays are the lowest group of people who excel in academic or in the education.thats y many parents espcially the MALAYS want their kids to be send to uitm because uitm provide education to help the malay to reach the same level or standard like the other races. now to answer ur question, y people wanted to fight to open that 10% quotas to non malays. this is because the society is assuming that the government is only protecting malay and giving the full quotas to the malays which from my point of view they want the competitive environment in uitm among the all races n not just malays.as uitm student itself, u dun think uitm is low quality,im studying in uitm. and if really true of what people said that uitm is so low quality now explain to me why most of the graduates that being employed is coming from the uitm students?

first of all, i am a uitm student, in fact im in asf's clasmate. u gotta understand on thing here. if we go bax through malaysian federal constitution, its sated that the malay supremacy need to be preserve, n uitm is one of the way of establishing upholding this matter. as we look back in history, the main reason why malays is alcking in any sector in malaysia cuz malay is left behind in technology matter eversince before independence, malays was put in agriculture sector to run n left in rural area while indians n chinese is doing great in big city. so malays have a late head start to growth as a strong n firm. i am not popping out any communalism issued here, in fact i agree if the 10% quo is open for othe races, i think its a healthy compitetion plus i think malays is ready to compete in education. speaking of standard, uitm's isnt low. thats the fact. uitm provided a lot of talents to step up to the plate for any vacant job opportunities. it is just the mentality that malaysian have which is "uitm is low standard".. NO! dat is not true. exp, 2 intake a year. some may see this as quality dropping standard agenda, but as for me i see it as a opportunities for more youngster to further their studies to higher education. uitm take in a lot of student to get in, n kick a lot out too if they r not up to standard. by that saying, low quality shudnt be an issue.
